It is part of the Australian Kookaburra series, which features a different design each year. The 1991 design shows a Kookaburra sitting atop a tree, staring down a hole in the tree trunk, perhaps looking for food. The coin is made of 0.999 fine silver and weighs 1 troy ounce. It has a limited mintage of 300,000 coins. The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
